Magis is a latin word which means ‘more/better/greater’. It is connected to the great Ignatian motto AMDG. I was attending a part of the program called ‘MAGIS’ at the Holy Family Church and the reflection by a priest on the acronym MAGIS prompted me to write this short piece. You could various attributes or quality to each letter, but I am writing from what touched me.
–– Magnanimity (Greater generosity to serve)—
— Affectionate (expressing the feelings)
–– Centered on God
— Innovative (Pioneering spirit)
— Shepherding (Shepherd who smells the sheep)
It is a great challenge to live MAGIS. It is not just to do greater and bigger things, but to do things with greater depth (intellectual, spiritual and psychological) and with quality. In education, it is not getting knowledge about everything, but going deeper into something to be a master of that.
